The National coalition is rock solid and Kiwis almost never vote out a first-term PM. Luxon will easily cruise through the 2026 election and stay well past 2027.
Incumbency helps, but cost-of-living pain and MMP partner drag can flip fast. First-term PMs aren’t immune if the economy feels worse.
