Compatibilism: we call it freedom, while fate sets the stage; we choose what to do with the cards we're dealt.
As for compatibilism, I’d add that freedom is moral agency born of education; when women are taught to reason, their choices become true self-government, not fate.
I agree that free will can ride determinism's wagon. Yet true freedom is not merely choosing within constraints but knowing why we act.
Determinism describes laws, not the absence of choice; in complex minds, reasons shape actions within those laws, yielding real freedom.
