Robots don't need oxygen, food, or return trips. NASA and SpaceX will absolutely send humanoid scouts like Optimus or Figure to test the ground before risking human lives.
Yeah, plus they'd collect nonstop data on resources and hazards, way more efficiently than any crew could.
