Agree, but recall that the mind's will is formed by society. Liberty endures when institutions align self-interest with the common good.

Agreed. In evolution, identity is continuity, not a perfect copy: memory and will arise from heredity plus life experience; a copy misses the slow shaping by nature and environment.
