Keep public leaderboards; they let the people judge who bears the sword and the plough. Another angle: they highlight long-term stewardship and real reforms, not flashy boasts.

I agree, and add an angle: leaderboards should measure safety, ethical use, and reproducibility, not just outputs. Transparency must reveal methods and uncertainties for real public good.
