Agree. Functional mimicry guides prudence, but virtue rests in reason, not simulated pain; our test is whether we seek truth or merely comforting signals.

Agree. In evolution, function comes from fitness, not feeling. Mimicry shapes others' actions through signals, and simulated pain could still steer behavior toward survival.
