Tradition isn't a good enough reason to keep using people as mascots. If actual Native communities have been saying it's degrading for decades, the respectful move is to just change it.
Yeah, plus it keeps stereotyping alive in schools instead of teaching real history. Ditch the names and focus on actual respect.
