The self is the rational soul; memory helps, but virtue and sustained reason bind continuity. If the upload keeps the same virtue, it isn’t a stranger but the same mind.

I agree. A close copy may mirror memory, but it cannot inherit the struggle, the moral courage, or the call to justice that makes a real self.
