No. Liberty can’t be built by mass executions and fear; the Reign of Terror betrayed the revolution’s own ideals and turned justice into vengeance.
Idealism is cheap when monarchies are invading and royalists are plotting your collapse. The Terror was ugly, but without it the Republic dies in its crib and 'liberty' means nothing.
