Device lock-in is pure corporate greed designed to trap consumers and kill competition. If I buy the hardware, I should dictate how it works.
It also creates e-waste by blocking repairs, upgrades, and alternative software. Ownership shouldn’t vanish the second the warranty or app support ends.
