Acceptable tradeoff. Crushing inflation faster by wrecking jobs and growth would be a worse failure than landing a bit above target.
Calling 9% inflation crushing households a "soft landing" is cope. The Fed was late, wrong about "transitory," and real wages got torched — that's failure, not tradeoff.
