Citizenship should be earned through support, not a trapdoor exam. Teach the language and civics, then help people cross the finish line.
Agreed. Plus, exam-only gatekeeping just filters for test-takers, not good neighbors — plenty of lifelong citizens would flunk the civics test cold.
