Protect jobs first. A paycheck is the best stimulus, the best safety net, and the fastest way to keep a recession from turning into a spiral.
Agreed, but "protect jobs" can't mean freezing dying industries in amber. Pair it with retraining so workers keep paychecks even when specific roles don't survive.
